Child Safe
Standards

As part of the ongoing development and improvement of MACS Care, we are keen to hear from MACS schools about what they find useful, what they would like to see more of, and how they are utilising the MACS Care resources in their contexts.
This QR code is for a short 5-minute survey has been created for school leaders (Principal, Deputy Principal, Wellbeing Leader and/or Child Safety Officer) in MACS Schools.
The survey is anonymous, and the information collected will be used to update and further develop resources to meet school needs. The survey will remain open through Term 3, but we encourage schools to complete it at their earliest convenience.

Want to maintain your compliance and obligations with the Child Safe Standards?
11 Months 11 Standards is the answer!
To participate, your school highlights just one Child Safe Standard each month and uses the MACS Care resources on this site. This intentional focus on one standard will help your school maintain it’s compliance requirements and continue to build child safety culture.
MACS Care resources for each standard include:
- A prepopulated Power Point for a staff meeting/briefing
- A poster to be displayed in staff/student areas
- A fact sheet and FAQs
- A parent/carer newsletter template
- A compliance tool kit with practical examples
- Scenario worksheet, based on realistic, school specific examples
- A Discovery Zone
Reach out to your SMSL and/or Child Safety Team for any further support.
The Child Safe Standards are a set of 11 requirements that organisations must follow to create a culture and environment that is safe for children. These standards aim to prevent, respond to, and report child abuse by requiring organisations to implement policies, procedures, and practices that put children’s safety and well-being first. They were developed in response to inquiries and recommendations from Royal Commissions and aim to drive cultural change within organisations that provide services or facilities for children.
